Toolcraft Australia at Holden Hill in Adelaide looks in 2020 to extend reach/capacity of its precise manufacturing

Toolcraft Australia, ahigh-tech defence and aerospace parts supplier based in the Adelaide north eastern suburb of Holden Hill was looking to grow globally in 2020.
Started in 1979 as EAS Tooling and owned by David McDonough, the precision aerospace manufacturing company provided specialised components and assemblies, Toolcraft provides advanced manufacturing services to the defence, aviation, space, hypersonics, electronics, photonics, medical, mining and beverage industries.
Toolcraft made components for global defence and aviation primes, including BAE Systems, Thales Australia, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon and Boeing. It had produced mission-critical components on platforms including the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters, Collins Class submarine and Hobart-Class air warfare destroyer. Toolcraft Australia delivered precision design, engineering, manufacturing (CNC machining, EDM and CMM).
Its services extended to project management, mechanical design and engineering, turnkey product development, rapid prototyping, painting and plating. packaging and logistics.
More than 80% of Toolcraft’s revenues were exports-driven the company in 2020 it was looking to become a global tier one defence and aerospace player. It also wanted to make extend its machine capacity to a 24/7 operation with more staff.
A $10,000 grant from a South Australian government COVID-19 support e-commerce Accelerator Program (eCAP) was a step toward that. The grant would be used to build a new website to better promote and market its skills and capabilities, especially in the high-growth supply chains in North America, North Asia and Europe.
