Jeremy Cordeaux's company owns both Adelaide stations: 5DN briefly reborn in 1990s in 5AD's old spot
5DN's former studios in Tynte Street, North Adelaide, are now the shared home for station's latest guise as Cruise 1323 Classic Hits.

The 5DN identity had only a brief rebirth during the 1990s but the moment had been lost for regaining its former glory.

The 1990s started with Jeremy Cordeaux and Montclair Investments owning both 5DN, under its new FM identity 102.3FM, and 5AD Easy Listening.

Montclair’s first plan was to simulcast 5AD Easy Listening also on the FM 102.3. But this was shut down by federal regulators as representing an unfair audience reach. With its old rival 5DN now itself identified as an FM music station, Montclair relaunched 5AD 1993 into an AM hybrid talk and easy-listening station called Radio 1323, with the talk from Cordeaux, Nan Witcomb and Bob Byrne.

But talk audiences had shifted to FIVEaa and ABC Local Radio’s 5AN. Radio 1323 was later rebranded as 5DN and returned to a mostly talk format but it never regained its former position as South Australia's No.1 choice for news, talk and sport. Behind the scenes, the station was a shell of its former self with only a few technically employed by 5DN with the rest (management, news, technical, sales) working for 102.3FM.

Later in the 1990s, both Radio 1323 and 102.3FM were bought from Montclair by the ARN (Australian Radio Network), only to close in 2004 when their licences were leased to SEN Melbourne (Sports and Entertainment Network). In 2004, 1323 AM had dropped from a 6.7 audience share and to near nil by 2005. In financial difficulties, SEN returned the licence to ARN that simulcast both stations as MIX 102.3 FM.

In 2005, the AM frequency was again separated from the FM program and was rebranded as Cruise 1323, playing easy listening music. The first Adelaide ratings survey of 2006 gave Cruise 1323 eight place and a 5.2% share of the total audience. By 2007, Cruise had moved to sixth place and 7.8% of audience overtaking the national youth station Triple J and commercial FM rock station Triple M Adelaide. In 2012, the station joined the Classic Hits Network alongside 101.7 WSFM Sydney, Gold 104.2 Melbourne and 4KQ Brisbane.
