Scott Salisbury a multi national and state award winner for bespoke homes built in South Australia since 1989
Scott Salisbury's building company, started in Adelaide in 1989, won a string of national and South Australia state awards for its bespoke luxury homes.

Scott Salisbury matched his All-Australian honours as a Adelaide league footballer with multiple national honours as a homes builder in South Australia. Scott Salisbury Homes took home multiple honours from the Master Builders Association’s national excellence in building and construction awards ceremony.

Uncertain about his future path, the young Salisbury was a trainee mechanical engineer for about nine months before his carpenter father took him on as an apprentice at 17. Salisbury credited his father for instilling his business principles such as “do it right the first time”.

Salisbury’s determined attitude came to public notice as a member of Glenelg's 1985 and 1986 premiership teams in the South Australian National Football League. He represented South Australia regularly and in 1987 was awarded All-Australian selection.

He formed Scott Salisbury Homes in 1989 before retiring from football in the early 1990s. The company became a South Australia market leader in bespoke luxury new homes and renovations. Among a string of national and state awards were the Urban Development Institute of Australia’s recognition for its Urbane at Brompton development in Adelaide and the professional major builder of the year titles for 2010 and 2011. Among Salibsury’s contracts was a multi-million-dollar venture to build 71 luxury houses and townhouses for Commercial and General’s redevelopment of the former Football Park precinct in West Lakes where he represented Glenelg.

Salisbury became concerned about factors such as transparency on house price quotes and a decline in building quality: “Of the 10,000 homes built annually (in South Australia), probably 1,000 are built without a licence.” In addition to the central business, Scott Salisbury Homes expanded swith the Bradford Homes and Bradford Projects becoming part of the Scott Salisbury Group.

The Scott Salisbury name also maintained its profile as builder of prize homes for South Australia’s hospital research lottery.
