Football South Australia president Estelle Bowman, first female head of the state's governing body of soccer since its official start in 1902, brought a wealth of execiutive experience to the role in 2022. The included heading the government cabinet office in the United Kingdom.

Estelle Bowman in 2022 became the first female president of Football South Australia with its history under different names going back to 1902.

Football South Australia, the governing body of soccer in the state was set up in 2006 as the Football Federation South Australia. succeeding the South Australian Soccer Federation. Its lineage went back to the South Australian British Football Association from 1902.

Estelle Borman, who succeeded Sam Ciccarello as Football South Australia president, brought a wealth of executive experience to the role from the public, private and academic sectors in Australia and overseas. It included holding senior positions initially in the Australian public service in Canberra and then in the United Kingdom government cabinet office in the prime minister’s Efficiency Unite and on the faculty of a leading business school.

Bowman held various roles in the United Kingdom as principal of the cabinet cffice. She had teaching and consultancy assignments all over Europe including teaching on executive programmes at INSEAD's Singapore campus, the civil service college in the United Kingdom and Singapore and the Credit Suisse Business School. In Australia, Bowman was a psychologist for the Australian public service (Canberra), director for executive development (public service board) and director for prime minister Malcolm Fraser.

Bowman’s consultancy projects included chair of the Wesley College Institute advisory committee (Melbourne), board member of Homestart Finance, managing member of Common Ground, board member of South Australian Affordable Housing Trust Board, member of South Australia public sector performance commission and Chair of Wesley/Yiramalay Studio School.

Her soccer administration included former president and life member of the Adelaide Hills Hawks Football Club, and vice president and deputy chair of Football South Australia.
