CDW Studios School of Visual Effects and Entertainment Design doubles its presence in Adelaide city in 2021
CDW Studios in Adelaide city partnered with Flinders University in 2016 to offer a three-year full time bachelor of creative arts (visual effects and entertainment design)

CDW Studios School of Visual Effects and Entertainment Design had its premises at the top of the Myer Centre in Rundle Mall, Adelaide city, doubly expanded in 2021.

The school, running since 2012, partnered with Flinders University in 2016 to offer a three-year full time bachelor of creative arts (visual effects and entertainment design). CDW Studios also ran as a private school offering classes in visual effects and entertainment design, with long- and short-term study options in a realistic studio setting.

CDW Studios provided an intense learning experience combined with a friendly atmosphere, catering for all skill levels from 3D modelling to 2D character design. All CDW courses were taught by industry professionals who had worked for international companies such as Disney, Blizzard Entertainment, Wizards of the coast and Lego. They exposed students to relevant ideas, workflows and portfolio development to pursue careers in games, visual effects and concept design. Students experienced learning in a realistic studio setting and all classes were delivered using a state of the art multimedia areas.

The cost of the full CDW Studios/Flinders University degree course was around $30,000, compared with the same course at a similarly ranked school in the United States of America that would require half a million dollars in student debt.

CDW Studios was consistently ranked in the top 50 media and entertainment schools in the world, according to respected ratings agency Rookies.

CDW Studios’s expansion at the Myer Centre included three new classrooms, honours breakout rooms, a new life drawing room for 50 students, and a 3D printing room. The animation studio had capacity for 110 staff, new office spaces, increased storage, meeting spaces, a gallery/function space and a commercial kitchen.
